Thought it was cancelled? - Not a bit of it
The boys (who can rarely be trusted to stay upright even in dry conditions) were sent home due to a damp bottom bend (which sounds like an embarrassing bowel disfunction). But in an act of desperation Chloe, who's so close to 2nd cat she can taste those last few points, used her feminine charms (and a low-cut cycling vest) on the commissaire to secure an official, short-course race round the top section of the course. Amazingly (where commissaires and race officials are involved) they saw perfect logic in Chloe's argument that all the girls present were bang up for it, and with so few racing opportunities afforded the women these days why not? They conceded that with all lap scorers and a commisaire in place there was no reason not to go ahead AND award points in the normal fashion. It's not often you say good work fellas to race officials but 'GOOD WORK FELLAS!"
So, a high speed 15-lap thrash ensued... as usual most of the other girls fell off allowing Chloe to get 2nd, safe-garding the points needed to attain 2nd cat
