Hillingdon 4.8 - 4th Cats - Groundhog Day

Postby Scott » Wed Aug 05, 2009 1:08 pm

For me, Groundhog Race Day begins each Tuesday evening at 7:15 P.M., with my memories of the "previous" race intact, trapped in a seemingly endless "time loop" to repeat the same race on the same track at Hillingdon with the same result.

So a repeat of last week’s race report will suffice:

We went round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and then the bell and a quick sprint for the line.
9th 1 point Again!!!!!!!!

Now, Groundhog Day is a tale of self-improvement, to look inside oneself and realize that the only satisfaction in life comes from turning outward and concerning oneself with others rather than concentrating solely on one's own wants and desires. Rubbish!!!!!!!
Buddhists may deem its theme of selflessness and rebirth as a reflection of their own spiritual messages but in my case..
I truly want to crush my opponent’s, I want the win… Victory will be mine…all mine ah ah ah ah haaa!!!!

oh the joy of having a good sprint and not having to go through all this just to bag one point :D

Rob, your strong enough to put in an all or nothing last lap attack, when I won I didn't really wait for the sprint, I just attacked on the last lap on the bend where you sign on then just went for it. Give it a try and drag Scott along on your wheel.

Not trying to tell you guys how to race, I'm no expert, just saying what worked for me. Wish I was race fit and could take part in a race. :(

Victory will indeed be yours. You've just got to battle against the mind and body's annoying tendency to do the same thing it did last time. Not Easy! There's still a few weeks left - You Can Do This!!!
