Couldn't decide wether to race Rusper road race or CX so opted for the latter, a long drive down as far as you can go in kent to Deal to the Fowlmead country park, cycling circuit facility, like a hog hill with cafe changing facilities MTB tracks and road race circuit without the big hill.
A fast dry circuit which was ridable by everyone, I managed to get a great start as now I'm a seeded rider always starting from the front row.
Got going and soon got ito the leaders position, I led the pack for the first lap and a half then was joined by Dan Duguid and Darren Barclay.
These 2 are quick experienced CX boys and I was learning some useful lines of them for a couple of laps then they started to pill away but I always managed to keep them in sight all race long.
I really enjoyed the race and whooped an Hollared my way round and managed to get all the spectators shouting with me
my third place was not under threat as there was a fair gap back to a chasing bunch.
Passed Tamar with a 3 laps to go and easily managed to finish on the podium in the end.
Great race I think everyone really enjoyed it especially Tamar who was in her first race for ages and Richard Munday was very happy to place 24th and on the same lap as the leaders.
Its a shame we don't have a nice cycling facility like this in our borough!
