Glad to have that one done and dusted
Did my usual stress bunny routine before the start, thanks to Rob for your help.
So it was windy, and I really struggled in places to get any decent speed, got knocked side ways a few times.
As always I over catered with food. Still have enough left in my tri box to host a nibbles party tonight. Went a bit over board on fluid as well, put it down to experience!
I rode 50 miles quite comfortably, maybe could have pushed a bit harder. The 3rd lap was the hardest for me, and this is where I lost the most time, it felt as if the wind really picked up then.
I was happy that I'm starting to find the longer distances less taxing mentally. Although I did sing a bit of "ten green bottles" and "5 little specked frogs sat on a specked log". And every time I spotted Phil I gave myself the task of naming a pie
Shame not to see other ACC's out, but it sounds like your body was trying to tell you something Mr
Really good experience for the IM, and yes I did managed a short run after - still not sure what that marathon is going to feel like
Be good to get under 5 hours next time . . . Yes I said it "Next time"
Lucy.
