SCCU 10, 19/5/12

Postby Jon H » Sat May 19, 2012 4:39 pm

Just me and Rob R-E from Addiscombe riding this morning.

My ride was going OK until Rusper roundabout 1/2 mile from the finish, where a Toyota Landcruiser pulled out from the road on the left leaving me nowhere to go but into the side of it. DNF.

Some nice road rash on my left hand, elbow, knee and hip, and a fractured wrist. Bugger.

Take care, Jon and here's to a speedy recovery. I hope there's lots of damage to the car. Were the police called?

This finally went to court just over a week ago (over 9 months since the incident). I attended Horsham magistrates court as a witness, as did the driver of another vehicle at the scene, and a spectator/photographer.

The driver was found guilty of driving without care and attention, got 3 penalty points plus a £300 fine and costs.

His insurance company has admitted full liability, so I'm just waiting for the damages claim to be settled now.

Well done for following it all the way through, you should get a few quid in compensation from the insurers. Started your shopping list yet?
