[quote="Sylv Choufflard"]Adam don't you know they call time-trial the "race of truth" :- P (ie if I needed further proof that Paul H is way stronger than me I have it spelt in capital letters here)
Wouldn't mind trying a flat one - I found that not knowing what horrible hill was coming next I had to hold back a bit most of the time. Those twisty descents were great fun though, I went through a couple of blind corners at full speed which got the adrenalin going, and although not quite up to Jon's standard it got a 37.7mph maximum.
I was also impressed of how conscious I was of my breathing - almost like when running, when you set your inhaling/exhaling rythm to your footsteps. I did try and get aero with hands as close to the centre of the bars as possible, but this made the shifting a bit of a hassle.
Breathing is very important for TTing, in my experience if you let your breathing go out of control you start losing speed (unlike Crystal Palace where I seem to spend all my time trying to breathe in through my a***).
It's also interesting to see pictures of pre-tribar TTers who all raced on the drops rather than hands in a more central position. I suspect you gain more aerodynamically by getting your head and shoulders lower than you do by having your hands further apart. I hope that didn't cost Adam his 2 seconds
