Great nights racing up at the Palace, good to see so many other Agreeables cheering all us racers on and also having a go themselfs.
Good to Meet you Marky Mark and yes I did recogmise you from the forum (rabbit rabbit) Well done Mark on popping your Palace cherry, it must have been quite intimidating for newbies because the field was just so large, I'm not sure I've seen so many people racing up at the Palace before.
Stu and I were in the E,1,2's and straight away there was an attack on the first or second lap and 4 or so riders got away, I didn't realise Warrick was in there, I wish I'd have spotted him cos I would have indeed tried to bridge across early in the race.
I tried to mainly sit in today up near the front and it really did work because I was saving lots of energy and had loads in the bag to react to any sharp increases of speed or attacks up the hill.
Didn't see too much of Stu during the race and guessed he must have been ejected after a while, p.s. where's your report Stu?
Fast race tonight and many riders were feeling the heat and dropping back, maybe cos of the early season, in the bunch a few riders were getting annoyed with me, I can't think why though, I just smiled at them but it seemed to make them see red
So many racers on the course it was alittle chaotic towards the back end of the race, and we got a little mixed up with some of the 3,4's who tried to join our group
2 laps to go I felt good so attacked on the top straight, didn't really pull out too much of a gap and was caught quite soon afterwards, I should have gone earlier on the hill instead.
Last lap and the final hill the pace was cranked right up and a big bunch sprint at the end for 4th place, where I finished in the pack. Really enjoyed racing back at the Palace again and had a good evenings sport.
