Gorrick MTB Crothorne

Serge and I raced in the experts class at Gorrick on Sunday.
We had 5 laps of the forestry land to navigate at race pace and it was a beautifully sunny day once going we were well warmed up.
Ther were quite a few elite riders and at the start they shot off very quick indeed, I struggled to keep up with them along the fast fire roads.
Into the singletrack and the course was in perfect conditions dry and good going, Serge came past me on the second lap, he doesn't half talk alot when he's racing!
I found it tough going from then with my legs not producing much power, I think it had something to do with the day before :D
My bike went really well and didn't miss a beat all afternoon, I loved the singletrack corkscrew section which crisscrossed through a small deep ravine.
Great event well done to Serge for finishing 12th and Nick De Meyer who had ridden in the mornings masters race.
Here you can see where I had just passed Serge on thie awesomely knaaarrly northshore type 25' dropoff

Well done to both of you.

Serge, I'm jealous, you've made the transition from Sport to Expert look easy.
