Eastbourne Rovers 25 - 15/8

Off to a new course for me this morning, the G25/89 which is on the A22 and runs from Maresfield to Boship and back. A bit of info from Jon and Joyce helped me know what to expect and last night Keith C said it was a bit sporting and a bit slower than the Horsham course, he also mentioned the expansion strips in the road and wasn't kidding some sections were terrible.

A bit chilly first thing but fine once under way. Metcheck had forecast a bit of a blowy one with up to a 15mph wind and it was spot on, a bit cross but mainly tail on the way out and a bit of cross and mainly head on the return as the course meandered about.

This is a real roller coaster of a course and seemed like continual drags and dips all the way round, with the added bonus of some iffy surface in places and the da-dum-da-dum-da-dum as you bashed over the expansion strips. On a calm day it might be an okay course as I think you could flatten it off a bit apart from the bigger drags although as Keith said it would still be a bit slower than Horsham, something a bit different to do from time to time though.

Today I found it a bit hard with the wind on the return leg a real bugger, and I also felt a bit tired. A quick tot up and this was my 30th race of the season so no surprise I've felt a bit tired in the last couple. Bearing in mind the wind and the rolling nature of the course not too dissapointed with my time, probably to be expected at the end of a long season. Apart from the ACC 10 and SCCU 25 I'll call it a day for the season, although I'm still happy to give a vet a tow in the Redmon GP.

The only other Addiscombe was Ben Jones who, when having a chat in the HQ, said this was his first forray back to a TT for 3 years. Only 15 seconds off his LTS entry time today so a good ride in tough conditions.

Addiscombe:
Andrew Green 1.03.12
Ben Jones 1.04.35

The winner was unsurprisingly Steve Dennis with a storming 51.59. A cracking time but half a minute off his time in the same event last year so bearing in mind he's going faster this year they must have had a better day for it in 2009.

Good work Andrew - I've really enjoyed reading about your further improvements in 2010 8)

If ACC had a TT er of the year - you'd get my vote

Cheers Snoop. Things have moved on nicely, beat my 10 and 25 targets and although I didn't get the 50 target I'd set myself I knocked 1m30ish off my previous PB. The National was my chance but I messed that up by not staying down there and being fresh for the start of the race, oh well live and learn.
