Thanks to Jon and all the helpers for today's event. Once again Jon booked a good day weatherwise and it's nice to get a shout out on course.
There was a light breeze in a few places but nothing that was particularly testing for a tester, and it was lovely and warm.
Nice little chat with Frank, Lesley (timekeepers) and Rob and Serge while I waited for my time - I was first off today - which resulted in Frank coining the name Frank "the lion" Cubis .
All in a good ride for me, the legs felt a bit achy but didn't seem to be slowing me down at all, just a bit of riding the pain game of time trialling . I had to slow and ease for a car at Beare Green roundabout but not a lot and it didn't have any real effect give or take a couple of seconds. Drove over the return leg drags well and was flying along never dropping below 30 for the last bit from the Red Chilli to the finish.
Back to HQ and a change in to normal clothes to help Joyce and Amy with the teas. Hope you're feeling fit and well for the mid-week social Amy.
Winner was the Wapid Walter Sybrandy with a stunning 19.51 which is (I think) the first 19 I've witnessed on the Holmwood course.
Addiscombe riders:
