Tooting BC Sporting 21

Back on the Bletchingley circuit for another 2 laps this morning, and what a lovely morning :D .

Five Addiscombe out today as I was joined by Lucy (in her first open TT and riding her new TT bike for the first time!), Jon, Carl, and Phil Kemp.

Happy with another good ride although felt I could have pushed a bit harder a bit earlier for the finish as I still had a smidge left, about 5 seconds worth I think  .

Rupert from Redhill knocked around 40 seconds off his SCCU winning time with 51:07 but was pipped to first by Sebastian Ader of a3crg who won with 51:03.

Lucy picked up some money for third woman with 1:08:26, a good time for a debut TT on a hard course. Phil on his road bike clocked 1:05:44, Carl was fastest ACC with a cracking 55:03. I knew he'd go well on this hilly course and good SPOCO points for him in the South East series. I knocked about 30 seconds off my SCCU time with 59:28 but was pipped by Jon by 4 seconds with 59:24. Looks like Jon and I may have another close season ahead of us, I lost count of the races we both did last year where one of us beat the other by a handful of seconds.

Beutifull morning for a lung busting hilly TT nice to see and talk to the acc and meet Lucy with her brand new blinged up argon that she only purchased the day before and never ridden!
My aim was to keep in front of Niall Digby (i was him minute man) for as long as possible which i did for about 7 miles or so miles on the first lap before getting caught behind a tractor and then Niall. Didn't risk trying to overtake the tractor so sat behind it for a slow draft with Niall probably loosing 20-30 or so secs, it finally turned of the road and Niall pulled off in front. kept him in my sights but as soon as we got to Bletchingly for the 2nd lap he was off up the road not to be seen until the finish again. Second lap was much slower seeing my av dip and my legs nearly fall off
Pleased with my ride and 5th (i think) place.4th spoco event for me just got two 50 milers to race now.....
Well done to all the acc, cracking rides on a tough course

Overall time, mix up initially with my time as they had me a minute slower and then mixed up the result sheet. Oh well first time I've ever had a disagreement with my time and beat it this week so don't have to worry about it :D .

First TT of the year for me because of earlier DNSs due to man-flu.

Well pleased with getting under the hour on that course; I've only been under once or twice before so hopefully it's an indication of a good year to come.

1-0 in the Hemming-Green TT Series. :D
