Its very hard to map out a course on Strava exactly to the correct manhole cover or lamp post, mine are always a few seconds out - and sometimes it doesn't even pick up a segment! I guess it could depend on the GPS used as well, maybe?? Its certainly not worth trying to sue Strava over!

Handicaps are based on the person's PB, or a nominal figure if they're a new rider.

If someone's got a PB of say 24 min 30 sec, then they get a 4:30 handicap. That gets taken off their actual ride time to give a handicap time. So, if they finish in 25 min then their handicap time is 21:30. Simples.

Thanks to everyone who helped last night...it's great to be able to turn up and race knowing all the important jobs will be taken care of. Great turn out and some great times....especially amongst the roadie-riders!!!

Thanks to all who organised last night, was a fun eve and great weather :D

Jon - my PB for this course - admittedly 4 years ago  - was 31.54. Do I get my handicap adjusted, or is that judged too long ago to be considered?? I did let Tim know last night

Julian, male newbies are given a 6 minute handicap, female newbies are given an 8 minute handicap. That gives them 26 minutes and 28 minutes to aim at.

Bridget, yes your previous time counts (sorry, must have missed it). I'll adjust the result accordingly.

Thanks Jon,

Such a result is probably easily (and best) missed, but I have to benefit in some way! :)

Woah. Massive PB for Lizzie there. She does realise that next time she has to go even faster?

Rich: I reckon that climb up Leith on Sunday really helped you there.

PBs tumbling all over the place. Looked like a good night. I was driving to a meeting :(

Can you make this very simple? I can't make any sense of this at all!!.. 4 mins 30 off 24 min 30sec... 3 mins 30 off 25 mins???
Cheers
