colchester rovers 47m Spoco TT

Postby carl f » Mon Jul 30, 2012 7:05 am

3 weeks ago this course was under water with the event thankfully cancelled just as i was about to be pushed off, yesterday at 8.am it was glorious sunshine but with a strong SW headwind
Last year i got caught by road works and thought i had taken the wrong route maybe loosing 2-3 mins and posting a time of 1.56
Yesterday despite feeling crap and the head wanting to dnf for the first 10 miles i eventually found a nice rhythm and finished in a very pleasing 151.31 with an av of 25.6 and 5 mins faster than last year, 4th overall out of 47 finishers
I like this event, its rolling enough to make it a spoco and passes through some nice quite Essex countryside. Your more likely to get held up by a tractor for a minute or so like i did yesterday than encounter too much traffic

Steve Dennis trounced it once again in 1.44.43

Yep, recovered really quickly - 2 days after finishing 24 and back on bike. Been doing 1.5hr turbos every day since Wednesday - the funny part is I've been doing them past midnight because I can't eat or drink between 2am and 9pm for approximately the next 25 days, so a very narrow time window to train. Bit annoyed because the opportunity to endurance train outdoors is null .

Nice points in the bag for the SPOCO SE - you completed all the qualifying events yet? I might consider this comp next year - might fancy some sporting tts...
