Crystal Palace 24th July

A bit of a mess all round. Master Ferri had a nasty off in the youth race. Hope he's OK and it isn't broken Carl. In the senior race, Ghaleb started strong in the 3/4s but faded. In the E/1/2s, Mr. Peachey was looking super strong being up the pointy end almost all the time. Steve was hanging in there but looking a little frazzled. Then there was a touch of wheels on the finish straight and one of the women went down hard.

They let the lap finish then marshalls cut off the "beak" bit. Unfortunately that was the 3/4s bell lap and a DP rider cam screaming over for the sprint (the finishing line having just been moved up a bit) and hit the marshall (also DP). The women's race finished in a bit of a mess but then they halted the E12s. Great shame for Darren I think.

Anyway, there was one result: http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/76634/Crystal-Palace-Cycle-League-14

U12s:
1st Master Ben Tulett Hargroves Cycles-Specialized-Trant-Next-Elliott's
2nd Mr Max Cheatle VC Londres
3rd Mr Thomas Hawkes Addiscombe CC

I hope Carl doesn't mind me putting it here, but his son fractured his collarbone unfortunately.

Nothing to do with me I swear - though you might want to stay away from me just in case.

Oh that's not good. He did look in quite a bit of pain.

Sylv: I apologise for my son being a cheeky sod on Facebook.

No prob Sylv
Thanks to everyone who enquired after Alex. We took him to Farnborough A&E straight from Palace and they confirmed a fractured collarbone. Poor lad was really upset as its the start of the summer hols for him but since then he has been on my turbo trainer twice :D... inspired by the tdf and wiggo last year etc etc
Worse thing is at the oly rr on sat at the Mall he got bitten by a swan just below his bad shoulder whilst feeding the ducks in St James park which caused him to jolt his shoulder and cause considerable pain for the rest of the day, he was in shock and lots more tears!.
