45+ riders. Accommodation Road circuit. 14 laps to go showing 1st time over the line.

Pace was pretty hot for the first 3 or so laps as a riders tried to establish a break. Pedal Heaven were out in numbers. Eventually 6 went clear including David Clark, 2 Pedal Heaven and 1 Felt, so things settled down a little in the bunch.

The main breakaway gained a couple of minutes on the bunch, with 5 staying clear. I managed to get in a late 3 man break with 2 laps to go, and we managed to stay clear of the bunch.

Accommodation Road is a little rolling, with one near stop-start bend, so after 14 laps it took its toll on the legs. As one rider put it, 60 miles seems a long way in October.

As an aside, it was good to catch up with Carl Ferri, competing in his first open road race.

Another good result Keith, and another nice little slip away in a break. Good work fella.

Thats a pretty decent result, Keith, Chapeau 8) 8) Its great to see your still flying the Road Race flag for ACC. Are you still training with a PM these days? If so, whats your threshold power looking like at this time of the year?

One race does not make a series though.

Wow, long time no hear Toks. Nice to hear from you. Must be a couple of years? Are you still riding? Still ACC?

Yes, still using a PM. Threshold power? Somewhere around the 300W mark. That's probably not my limiting factor in roads races though.

Thanks for sharing dude. I will definitley be racing for ACC next year? A bike fit with the www.thebikewhisperer.co.uk and physio has helped loads so I will try to get going again next month. Its been the biggest year for Cycling in Britain and more inspirational than ever and I've only managed about 21 days of riding/training for the whole year  Nevermind I'll be back

As demonstrated by me missing the break that counted in the 2nd race of the 3 race Ottershaw Series today. 9 laps of Valley End, followed by 9 laps of Staple Hill.

    1 ) Paul Pickup - Pedal Heaven
    2 ) Adam Cotterell - Zappi
    ...
    Nowhere) Keith Lea - ACC

That's the way it goes - you win some(or come in 7th), you lose some
