Spoco 25 yesterday, from Chelmsford, through the Rodings to Great Dunmow and back, on rolling A and B roads. Nothing too hilly and usually an OK course. But OMG, since I'd last ridden this course all but about 2 miles of have been resurfaced with what seems to be a special treacle and chipping mixture. It was noticable that the few parts that hadn't been resurfaced were about 2mph faster than the new stuff.
Out of a field of 50 only 3 got under the hour, and I plodded round in 1:09 something.
