West DC 10 - 13/07/13

I decided to give the Bently course a miss on Saturday morning to chase a fast 10 on the U47B Swindon course on saturday evening. This version of the course is the reverse of the version I had previously ridden with a much better turn but a slower start and finish. I always say I like the warm weather but it was a crazy hot 31C when I arrived at the HQ though the temperature had dropped a couple of degrees by the time I started. A light northerly breeze meant a very fast return leg though I struggled to keep the power on over the last couple of miles possibly due to the heat and a bit of dehydration. Just had a slight delay approaching the finish following a learner driver but finished with a season's best 22:13. Not a perfect ride, but pleasing none the less.

On a more somber note the was some talk of a traffic incident involving a rider but I didn't hear anything official.
