Perfect day on G25/53 and all the ACC riders complaining of feeling rubbish. Slowest ever 25 for me.

Andrew Green: 1:05:04
Phil Hawkes: 1:12:34

About 3.5-4mins slower than normal in this early season event for me. First time on the race bike for six months and my hamstrings felt it at the end. With the terrible winter weather and sorting out the new house I know my fitness is well down but was fairly happy with this as an opening to start to get it back. Not going to get fit fannying about, best way for me to get race fit is racing, so not worrying about times at the moment but just looking to sharpen up.

Nice weather and great to be back at race HQ and catching up with people, lovely friendly atmosphere in TTing which shines through in these early season events. Part of what I love about TTing and cycling in general was encapsulated on course when I caught Tom at exactly the same time Phil was passing the other way, father and son out racing together.

Well done on your first 25 Tom, and a target for you to aim at in the ACC race in a couple of weeks.

Sub 52 on this course is pure class and in basically the first race of the year, well faster course one, is brilliant. Pete is a great rider.

Tom's in that lucky position of learning and so being able to PB almost every time. Once Palace starts he'll probably put on a bit of speed too. He enjoyed it although where that headwind came from at the end we're all puzzled about.

Too risky for me to ride our 25 I think. I'm still not quite a confident enough organiser to do that.

Feels good to get back on it again. And yes, the post-ride atmosphere at the HQ is always nice.
