Newbury RC 25 - 17/05/14

Postby SteveD » Tue May 20, 2014 9:54 am

A really nice afternoon on the Aldermaston course (A4) with a light westerly breeze and warm enough to ride without arm warmers - easily the best day of the year so far. The event itself was a slightly frustrating affair as a sub-hour ride was dashed by my being held up in traffic both times down the hill through Woolhampton and once at the Aldermaston roundabout. I ended up with 1:00:09 but still enjoyed the ride in the fine weather.

Steve

Glad you enjoyed yourself and you would have easily gone under but for the traffic.

Better than me as I got up at 4.45 and was feeling good for my first race of the season only for the event to be cancelled mid race due to the dreaded road works.

Never mind, but a bit frustrated.

Still looking forward to the club 10 tonight.

Maybe I`ll see you at Bentley on Sat.

Regards

Terry

Good ride Steve, shame to miss the hour by so little.

Just the two of us Saturday Terry, Steve's warming up his 24 legs in Sunday's 100. I pulled my entry and swapped for the 10 as I haven't done the training needed for a 100. Good luck for Sunday Steve and see how long you can keep Mr Fixed at bay, although there'll only be one of him not two like the start sheet :) .
