Surrey League RR - Kirdford 2/3

High winds, rain and the clocks changing made it an unappealing day to race, only me in ACC colours after everyone else (sensibly) decided they had something better to do. Very big cat 2 London Dynamo contingent and a group of Paceline guys were racing.

The race was 8 laps of the flattish Kirdford circuit, with a 5 mile neutralized section to get there. The wind made it tough going, any gaps left were felt, managed to control myself and didn't launch any attacks early on in the race. After about 4 laps there was a split in the peleton and about 10 of us had to chase hard to get back in contact, just after remaking contact there was another split and that was it, firmly in the grupetto. Another half lap and I couldn't hold the pace of the grupetto and fell out the back of the race, home for an early bath.
