Sussex CA 100

Postby Jon H » Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:39 pm

What at awful morning, cold windy and raining. After weeks of glorious weather it seems to have become March again.

But, the forecast I saw said it would blow over, so I started riding the Sussex CA 100 down near Petersfield, hoping it would improve. It didn't, it got worse. On the second lap at about 30 miles I was down to 16mph going up a drag into a howling headwind, soaked to the skin and wondering what the hell I was doing. The opportunity to pack 5 miles later was too tempting to resist as the course went within a couple of miles of the HQ. As it turned out the conditions continued to get worse and the event was abandoned, so I'm glad I stopped when I did.

Fingers crossed for better weather for the SCCU 100.
