UK 2006 Cyclosportiv Rankings

Postby Toks » Tue Jan 02, 2007 5:00 pm

I had a quick scan. Chapeau to both Brian (56) and Alan (52) they're in the top 5%. Apart from Tim (176) I didn't see anyone else I recognised from ACC. Terry Leaves, who came 2nd I know from Islington Cycle Club. He's a great testament to how a period of fucussed training can absolutely transform fair to middling club riders. http://www.cyclefilm.com/trophy.htm

hi Toks,

just seen this post of yours - first I have heard of any rankings.. Not sure I understand what they are trying to show.... I wish I was as good as Tim Harris and he is ranked at 176 ?

cheers,

also they have not got my time for the Etape du Dales on there... I just scraped a silver by 20 seconds - 7hrs 59mins 40 sec ! I need to shave an hour off that to get a Gold next time..
cheers,

Toks, you clearly stopped looking way too early to find me at 1179 (a rather weary Highclere Castle ride securing that place). You might have spotted Matt at an impressive 136 though!

This gives us all something else to aim at next season - top 1000, top 500, beating Alan...

I think if you complete at least 3 which I may not do this year it means you have a good chance of getting a high ranking - Maybe I'll get an ACC award????

Good Stuff Mike, like I said it really was a quick scan. I'm sure this whole Cyclosportiv Sportiv Phenomenon is gonna be a lot more official looking in terms of status and rankings for 2007. It'll be good to see more ACC peeps grabbing some of the action. My money is on Mr Ian Munnery to break free from those 'fear of failing chains' and surprise us all. I know he loves hilly rides :D

Woohoo, I'm in at number 1053. I knew that soaking in the Dales was good for something.

How come Huw doesn't appear, or did I miss him?

797 for Huw from one event (well a Huw Williams anyway).

On this evidence it looks like Alan should be our new Sportive secretary. :D
