Science in Sport Criteriums...

Well unfortunately this is a big fat DNS for me today.

Managed to pick up an Ear infection yesterday somehow. Wasn't too bad to start with, but by the time Chelsea had justly done over my adopted natives, it was so painful i could hardly move.

Off to A and E i went, and suprisingly i was in and out within 25mins, i was expecting to be in there for hours! The doctor just gave me some extra strength anti-inflamatory drugs, which seem to be slowly reducing the pain. Trouble is these may not in itself make it go away, in which case i have to go back for some anti-biotics. Which i really don't want to have to do as that would be a real set back for my racing when i get home next week. Doh!

So i have sensibly decided not to race this evening as not only is it an E/1/2/3/4 race, so gonna be hard whatever happens. My hearing is a lot worse in my right ear than my left, so im guessing my balance will be affected too. All in all enough to put me off pshycologically if not physically. I also had very little sleep last night due to the constant throbbing pain, i cant remember ever having been in so much pain. Its just not fair! So looks like i may never race up here at all! Oh well. C'est la vie i suppose.

I just really don't want to have anti-biotics!!! Does anyone have any miracle cure for ear infections!?!?!?

Cheers,

Adam

Bad luck. I was on antibiotics recently for 5 days * 2 for a painful capped tooth (seems to have done the trick of killing the bacteria, otherwise it was extraction), didn't notice an affect on my form. Mind you I had a cold at the same time so wasn't really 100% anyway, maybe the antibiotics were in part responsible?
