So so annoyed at myself for letting the guy pass me literally on the line, which I thought was closer than it was. I was already imagining the "old one-two" headline for ACC and got carried away in my thoughts, not finishing the sprint properly

... but not so annoyed as for leaving my house keys at work which I realised upon getting home. So, popped into Kevin's to drop some of my stuff, then rode another 19km to London, and have now decided to crash at work for the night (got shower, food downstairs, sofa and a TV), which means I get a lie in and don't even have to ride in the morning

Well done again Jon, I was getting worried about when you were going to make your move and come towards the front. I see you have learned your lesson now. Felt great during the race, rode more smartly than last time.

I even gather Sean 'your not going to get me to race... how to i get a license again?' Hogan had to be told to stop rather than stop of his own accord!? Nice one!

Your all b******s, i can't believe i missed being apart of this ACC domination! So we gonna do the same again on Saturday, at Chertsey!?

well that was great race and result well done jon, sylv, matt and well done sean!

most of the race i tried to stick near sylv and matt as they seamed to know what to do etc. this worked pretty well and i was feeling comfortable with the lines and the corners. i found on some of them that if you take it wide the momentum seams to carry on and there is no need to sprint out the corners.

however with a few laps to go i ended up off one of the corners--> the one with the steep bank below and with the trees. it happended pretty fast but i think i must have taken a slightly wrong line, as the person slightly infront of me and on my left cut across pretty sharply and i had no real option but to go onto the grass. i tried to come back up but fell over (not badly though).

cheers david for helping me get sorted, finding my speedo etc etc. i spent the last few laps with him and simon h watching the rest go past which was pretty good fun actually! i couldnt beleive how fast they all seam to take the corners.

cheers for all the marshals, ive never known such support, i dont think a lap went by without me hearing my name shouted, or somone elses!

Hard luck Stu....I really feel sorry for you...that's 2 races in a row you've had bad luck. Never mind. The good thing about racing is there's always another race a few days later to put things right.

I didn't feel that great today and although I tried to stay near the front, I had to dig in on the hill to hold my position. Last couple of laps I got cramp (again). Not sure why I keep gettnig cramps in races...I'm well hydrated and taking isotonic stuff.

Jon was in a different class to everyone else and won easily. Must be a 2nd cat soon, surely? Sylv looked very strong and comfortable chased a few breaks down at the front. Last lap I tried to get to the front more out of wishful thinking than anything else. The sprint started at the bottom of the hill and by the top I was still in with a shout, even though my legs had nothing left. I sprinted on instinct and self-preservation more than any sense that I could come round people and challenge for the win. I don't think there was much in it between 2nd and 5th place, but it might as well have been a kilometer as far as I was concerned since by this time my legs had completely refused to work.

All in all I was happy with a top 10 for my first Palace of the season. My day would have been complete if Chelsea could have got past those pesky scousers. Alas, it wasn't to be

well, that seemed harder than last week to me although a slower average speed, it was longer. I also hadn't such a good position and kept having to break and/or accelerate to bridge small gaps forming as riders in front lost touch with the lead group. I am happy with the race as I didn't get dropped from the lead group - which gave me a good view of Jon as he moved (cruised more like it) up the bunch to take prime position, very impressive. I started to cramp on the 2nd last lap in my left thigh and on the final hill sprint for the end I got it in both legs but managed to keep going with the end in slight. Great to see so many ACCer's racing and great support from the marshals and supporters.

Some stats:
biggest field in 3/4 for ages (approx 90 riders - riders were also turned away)
I counted 24 laps
average speed just under 24mph (ignoring the immmediate start speed in the first few seconds)
Time 48min
average heart rate 173bpm (~85%max) (once started never dropped below 160bpm)

Well done to Jon, Sylv and Matt, and everyone else!

Wow what a night! As they say 'there ain't nothing like an Addiscombe Party'. The ACC 3/4s racers on show were: Jon, Sylv, Kieran, Kevin, Stu, Simon, Aidan, Andy, Matt, Andrew and a very smooth fella called Sean Hogan. Thats 11 ACC riders in the same race. AMAZING! I think 6 was the best at CP last year - great stuff. Well done you guys especially Jon, Matt and Sylv. Hurry up and make 2nd cat I need some friendly faces to suffer with

Noticed that London Dynamo got a 1-2 in the E12 race. Well done to them as well. Maybe one day, if the current trend continues, the ACC will be able to do that.

So many riders turned up for the second event of the Crystal Palace Summer League on Tuesday evening, that there can’t have been many people left at home in South London. Well, a slight exaggeration maybe, but with riders being turned away at the sign on because of a capacity field, it certainly seemed that way. In fact, once the racing started, it was difficult to find a gap to cross between fast moving bodies, variously shouting ‘mind your back’ and other more colourful variations of the same sentiment.

The event hosted by Addiscombe CC was again ridden over forty five minutes plus five laps because of low light, and happily, for the second week running there were no crashes, although one rider did miss the tight turn at the bend of the lake and was last seen ‘doing a Lance Armstrong’ as he bumped across rough grass, well on his way to Penge [STU?].

Hosts, Addisombe CC, finished with three riders in the top five of the 3rd and 4th cat race, with Jon Carnell storming down the home straight several metres ahead of chasers, to take Eddie Wingrave’s chequered flag. Bradley Butler (Evans RT) split Carnell and third placed Sylvain Garde(Addiscombe CC), with Oscar Challis (Dulwich Paragon) in fourth and Matthew Ives of Addiscombe in fifth.

In the Elite/1 and 2 race, it was London Dynamo first and second, in the shape of Iain Paine and Tom Hemnant respectively, with Matt Holmes (Arctic Shorter Rochford), Erick Rowsell (Team Corridori) and Mike Jackson (Trek) in third, fourth and fifth.

Anne Boorsma (Dulwich Paragon) seventh overall in the 3,4 Cat, and first woman, with Jo Rowsell (Global ) in ninth overall. Alice Monger -Godfrey (Glendene/ Biketrax) came in behind Jo Rowsell, with Rebecca Thompson (Evans RT) and Corrine White (VCL) tying behind her.
