Rain stopped play. :(

I guessed it would but thought I'd pop along anyway in case they were going to try and get an hour or so in. Got there and there was 1 bloke getting some laps in and nobody else.

How do you know in advance if it's cancelled? Obviously if it's actually raining take it for granted, but at the time it wasn't and there was still blue in the sky. I think an hour would have been possible.

The track can dry out pretty quickly so even if its raining at 5 or 5.30 pm then can sometimes get a ride (according to Keith who has ridden there way more than me). However, as we rode home from work, coming through Brixton at 6pm Keith was deluged and I was getting almost as damp at Tulse Hill...so we figured it wouldn't be worth heading down the track.

It's a bit hit and miss. We turned up a few weeks ago when it was spitting, and racing went ahead. It even began to rain during one of the races, but because it wasn't heavy and it was a very brief shower the racing continued and we got through the whole schedule of races.

If it's not actually raining at 6.30/7pm and it's not an inconvenience for you to get there it's worth turning up. Just be ready to stop early !

As I understood it yesterday Dulwich/Crystal Palace way was dry most of the day until about 8pm. Other parts of London, notably SW19 had had rain since lunchtime - so that would explain why many people wouldn't have turned up, if they were working somewhere further West or North of the velodrome.

Thanks, just wanted to check if there was any "noticeboard" I wasn't aware of.
