Today's mission; pick up a few more Spoco points. My three best placings in the Spoco group 2 events were 8th, 9th & 18th, so better than 18th would get me a few more points. Pretty small field of 41 on the start sheet, so 17th should be achievable and a top 10 place possible.
Similar conditions to last week's Eagle 50, which meant there was headwind on the way back. Tried to make the best use of the tailwind on the way out and was zipping along nicely. Used different tactics on the way back; went onto the small chainring and tried to keep the cadence up instead of pushing a big gear round like last week. Not sure if I was any faster or slower as a result, but it felt a lot better.
Was quite a close battle for the places; the winner did 1:08:40, second was a 1:12 then lots of 1:13s and 1:14s. I did 1:15:07 for 13th place, so it was worth the trip. Back up there next week for a 25 to see if I can do any better than 13th.
