Six Agreeables out on the Bentley course for this one. Some quick times too; in order of starting:

Dominic 1:57:26 PB
Me 2:12:48
Tamar 2:12:17
Jon H 2:06:36
Robert R-E 2:05:46
George's first 50 1:55:05  8)

I'll let the others tell their own stories [edit: I see Dominic already has], but I learnt two lessons: (1) Don't make a 50 your first TT of the year; and (2) If you're going to tweak your bar height, try it out on a 10 first [reaches for the Savlon].

I caught up with a rider out for a fast training ride on one leg. I passed him, so he decided to draft me for a bit - nothing wrong with that, since he wasn't in the race. But then he kept going past me , presumably in an attempt to get me involved in a 2-up of some sort  . I don't know if he was trying to get me disqualified, and I'm sure the Agreeables would never be so dim.

Beautiful warm weather this morning finally greeted us and none too much wind either.

Set off with Keith Coffey a minute behind me which was a nice little indicator to how I was riding  , straight into a nice pace just below my 25 pace, I was keeping the HR at 167 as opposed to 172 felt very good and was no problem keeping it going.

Then after around 20 miles I started getting some serious nasty pain in my backside right where the sit bones are, I shuffled around a bit couldn't really get too comfortable, just tried to grin and bear it really, but it was bugging me a bit and taking over my concentration from the job at hand.

Than after 24miles Keith came past with a shout of encouragement, I think he noticed I had eased off a bit, check my computer and had managed the first 25 in just under 57.

Was riding well within myself didn't go into the red at all and for the second half my HR was down to 158 which was too low, I think the pain was bringing it down.

Finally managed to get through that rough patch after 35 miles and got back into a nice rhythm by sitting right on the nose of the saddle.

The last 10 miles whizzed by and before I knew it I saw the chequred flag, it didn't feel as long as 2 25's thats for sure, checked the speedo and had clocked in a short 55, so very pleased with my time and hopefully nextime there should be more in the bag too

Gonna get some hemorrhoid creame now to numb the whole area for the next TT, think I might have to share it with Dom and Tamar by the looks of things back at the HQ

P.S. Paul T rode a terrific 58 somewhere in East Anglia this morning, he sounded well chuffed on the dog earlier, Well done Paul.

Fab results for George & Dominic.

I thought I was doing OK for the first 20 - 25 miles, averaging just less than 25mph and catching a few people. Then at 30 miles I started to feel hungry which was a bad sign. I didn't have any food with me, so all I could do was neck my energy drink and hope for the best. From 35 miles onwards it was just a struggle to keep going and I watched my average speed drop down and down.

That's a shame John, Did you have your Wheetabix?
I taped an SIS energy gel to my top tube and necked it at 35 miles, didn't feel I needed it at the time but it was there so I had it :? Also only drank half my free Addiscombe bottle of MAXIM energy drink.

Sylv - pleeeeeease - if you're gonna do one - make it the SCCU 100 on July 27th. It's the 100th anniversary of this event and the SCCU are trying to get a 100 riders out. I think it would be really cool if we could get 10 from team ACC to step up and do this one. I'm in  again!!!!
