The last 30 I rode was in 2002 when I had to abandon 10 minutes into the event barely able to breath. I had to dig back through my records to find a time for my entry form so this was a bit novelty ride.
The weather at the Bently course on Saturday was dry and warm with a bit of a breeze accross the course - no really easy bits but no grovelling either. For the first time this year I felt I got 'in the zone' and only started to wilt in the last couple of miles, but these were thankfully slightly wind assisted. Having got to the 20 mile mark in 47 mins. I knew a sub hour equivalent was on and so it proved with a time of 1:10:52, an all time PB . Things got even better when I checked out Mr Woodburn's time (as us older folks do), remarkably a 1:10:52 .
Here's hoping the good weather holds on a bit longer!
