Andrew where do you find the results so quickly?

Had an excellent race last night. Did loads of work on the front with the four norwood paragon guys who finished ahead of me.

The four man scratch group ambushed us on the penultimate lap while the group I was in struggled up the hill. I was stuck behind a tortoise disguised as a cyclist when this happened & had to veer crazily round ten others to try and chase them down; I dragged the pack along for about 2 miles trying not to let them get away but eventually admitted defeat.

Loads of work on the front for the last lap and in the final two or three miles, doing about thirty mph dowm the road form the charlwood cafe, I went off the front three times in the hope of getting a break for a solo finish. Each time I tried this I got a little bit further away and on the final attempt I got about fifty metres ahead, every time though the merciless paragon reeled me back in.

Was nicely positioned for the finish which was uphill but probably should have been paying more attention to my gearing. I have now learnt that sprinting uphill in 53/14 is simply not possible

I completely ground to a halt @ the crest and had to watch an apparently endless procession go round me to what was probably the slowest sprint finish in the histroy of cycling, which was nice.

Best race I've had so far though, really, really, enjoyed myself and must resolve to just stay near the front and ride myself into the ground rather than lurk @ the back of the pack simply making up the numbers :?

I'm registered to the Surrey League Yahoo newsgroup and get an email of the results of every SL race sent to me. On the SL website if you scroll down there is a box to fill in your email address and then just click to join.

Sounds like you had a great race, and getting some good results. You seem to be racing almost every day at the moment.

B****y hell Dan, 53*14 up there :?: :?: - that's OK at the bottom, but once the steep bit bites :(

Still got a good placing though. Chapeau.
