ACC 10

Postby Andrew G » Sat Sep 06, 2008 5:59 pm

Thanks to Jon and all the marshals for running the race in hideous conditions. Everyone was fairly universal in their dislike of the weather - strong wind and chucking it down for most of the time.

Don't know any times, just that my race lasted all of about a mile and a half. Left the start and up the drag, weather horrible, heavy rain, but legs felt okay up the first drag in to the wind. Got to the top though and the rain and spray from the road was making viability near zero for me. Glasses misted up and covered in rain, couldn't even pick out the catseyes so pulled in as it wasn't really safe to carry on. Rolled sedately back to the start down the path and had a cup of tea and much cake regardless of not having earned it :D .

Hey-ho fingers crossed for the 25 tomorrow.

Well done on the team win guys, plus fastest lady Tamar.
Understand the score Andrew. Don't blame you.
At least it was a DNF.
Would have been a DNS myself today had I entered.

That’s great news!

Big Thanks for Jon and co who helped out on a truly miserable afternoon.

Thanks for the umbrella cover at the start, should of taken it with me as Robert pushed me off the heavens opened, felt I couldn’t see a thing for most of the outward leg! stinging rain in my eyes and with so much service water, visibility was none existent at times, don’t blame you Andrew for your own safety.
Took the turn a bit too wide for my liking but the rain stopped and the tailwind helped on the return, some consolation.

Well done to us, got to be in it to win it!

what filthy weather - hope your trousers have dried out Conor

Well Done team ACC - nice ride Mark shame you just missed a top ten finish, oooo close.

Big thanks to all the helpers who braved the peein' rain and driving wind. When I got to the turn it was foul, I didn't have the heart to ask Keira to stand out and marshal with me so she got to sit in the car with a bag of chocolate buttons. Best result of the day :D

It was pretty miserable watching the action from the Beare Green r/about. But it must have been better than actually riding.

One of the mid-Sussex riders (father Valks) decided to ride over the roundabout as the thought it may be quicker. How he didn`t go over the bars I don`t know. Still he was ok and lives to ride another day. something to do with rain and carbon wheels and the brakes don`t work.

Keith Coffey was very impressive, actually overtaking between two cars on the r/about. How do you have the power and balls to do that. He looked very controlled.

Our own , Mark Mc was also very impressive, very smooth, with a cadence of around 100 rmp. I reckon if he took up testing seriously he would be a force to reckon with.

See you all at the Presidents`.
