Southern Counties Rawson Shield Plus Plus

Postby Snoop Doug » Sun Nov 02, 2008 7:04 pm

Nice lunch in very pleasant company today. Team ACC ate all the roast beef, yorkshire puds, chicken pie, spuds and then bread pudding that was going spare. There was plenty, Mr G, Rob RE and I had fourths on the main course. Jon and Keith W were no slouches either, fly the flag!!

I was privileged to be invited to collect the Rawson Shield on behalf of ACC. We accumulated 74 points this year, 16 more than 2007 and we were first by a country mile. Epsom CC came second with 44. Very well done to everyone who contributed. With apologies for any omissions (I don't have all the results for the 2008 year) here is the roll call:

George Brent
Dominic Lowe
Richard Viney
Robert Royle-Evatt
Rob Crozier
Paul Tunnell
Tamar Collis
Andrew Green
Ian Munnery
Douglas Shaw
Ivor Hewitt
Ben Fancourt
Jon Hemming
Mark McLaughlin
Chris Lambert
Carole Heritage
Mark Turner
Michael Ingram
Stephen Hehir

Wouldn't it be cool if we could get an EVEN BIGGER list next year  ?

George won an individual trophy, don't know what for (sorry mate it wasn't printed in the programme) maybe it was for that famous 24 hr super smile :D 8)

Tamar got 2nd place in the women's BAR. I know she wasn't happy with 2nd however wanted to mention as her SCCU season included a Counties, course and event record of 4.34.00 in the centenary 100. Tipperty Top.

Men's BAR qualifiers were George, 7th out of 26, Dominic 10th, Rob RE 16th, Jon 17th, Mr  22nd and moi back there in 25th 8)
Rob RE 13th out of 15 in the Vet's BAR, I propped that one up in 15th.

The Bec cleaned up with Keith Coffey nailing the individual BAR, and they took the team award, the 50 award and the 100, super fast trio!!

Good work team ACC, see you next year 8)

George's trophy was for the fastest SCCU rider in the sporting 21 way back in March. It's now residing at Tamar & Keith's gaff just down the road from Chez Brent.

Who ate all the pies? Addiscombe CC :D
