Race Winning Modesty

Postby Toks » Sun May 24, 2009 9:24 am

OK OK I get it now. Is it now considered uncool for winners to write their own race winning report?  I think Paul H started the trend and now Chloe and Steve have maintained it. But what do you do if nobody is there to witness you win :?

Are you trying to say, in a round-about way, that you've won a race Toks?

Next thing you know people will be racing on the quiet and not writing a report, eh Toks  . The reports aren't just for race winners :D .

 Like me, you, Huw, Marek, John H etc have been writing race/ride reports for a few years but lets be honest it has that extra exciting edge to it when you get a report from a newbie/irregular poster particularly when they've managed to bag a win. Each to their own of course - and yeah you know where to find me

Like most I will try and write a race report even if I have not done well. I think it is encouraging for other members to be able to see that it is just as much about competing (at whatever level) rather than winning. It can sometimes be hard to write a race report when you think you have not done well.

Not sure I would have that problem if I won an open TT or a road race though :D
