Just me riding this from the club. Quite warm when I was off at 7.11am but there was a bit of wind about. For a change it blew you towards Crawley and made what I usually find really tough a real pleasure Tapping along about 27/28mph on the flat. Caught my 2 minute man just before the turn.
Tried to keep the power smooth from the turn and although I could feel the headwind I managed to keep the speed up. Caught my 3 minute man at about 8 miles in and he promptly held me up at a roundabout by taking the shortest line Felt pretty good and kept pushing. Didn't go below 30mph from the second last roundabout and managed (apart from my fellow competitor) to not get held up at any roundabouts. Pushed on to the finish and on my ride back to the HQ (2.5 miles) knew in my heart of hearts it was not near a PB because of the wind. But it felt like one of my best TTs of the year. Gave Ben Instone a nod as he was pootling his was to the start.
Back at the HQ. 22.31 a season's best by a second. I was only 50 seconds slower that Keith Coffey so not too bad. Leading time when I left was a short 20. I was about 10th when I left but there were a fair number of seeds still to have their times up so if I scrape the top 20 I will be happy.
Parked up on the way home to watch Ben finish and from guestimate on my car clock he was very close to 20mins
Just to let you know George my average power was nowhere near yours for that course
