Chain Gang 27 Feb

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

[quote="Stu Merckx Man"]sorry guys ive got man flu

The skiing (without any specific training) has messed me up more than I thought it would

Pain in my upper thighs has gotten worse instead of better, am now on Ibuprofen and Deep Heat!

I hope it isn't a repeat of Marco's marathon-sans-training that left him injured for a while ...

2.5 days till the race I hope it gets better and same for your cold Stu

That is cool marco I didn't know that about Jody, what year would that have been?

The first time I saw him I didn't know who he was. It was at a Southern XC round at Eastway in 2003,

Until then the fastest man I'd ever seen around that course was Jon Webb

and yet this baby-face guy beat him to first place by something like three minutes that day

To refer to one of my previous comments about leg-shaving, on the podium he had baggy shorts with baggy shorts

I thought that actually looked pretty cool

[quote="marco"]It was shortly after Steve came back from riding with DeNardi in Italy so Im thinking 2001 or 2002.
Jody and his mate on WCPP (world class performance plan) turned up and we all road round together. They were happy to ride tempo until we got to merstham and you suddenly heard this click click ratchet sound as they did their shoes right up and they were OFF at a frightening speed up the hill!

Im thinking his mate was Sam Humphries which is probably my brain mangling the name of Sam Humpherson

so yeah thats three people in that race that rode on the ACC clubrun at some point!

It was Tim Morely (National junior MTB Champ and road squad member)
