[quote="Toks"]ACC is essentially all about the saturday club run. End of! Club's half of our size have two and sometimes three official club runs per week and we don't.

So it's not too suprising that given we only have a handful of regular RR's and TT's (hence not many competitive peeps) that the chaingangs aren't that popular. Of course, there are other reasons but for me thats the main one.
Heretic

Made me laugh Toks, nice one!
It often feels like what you've suggested but I don't agree entirely...
I'd like to big up the alternative club run which under the stewardship of PeteS has managed to stick, and grow in popularity (not that it's a popularity contest mind..). It's a shame that it takes such reserves of persistence to build up something just a little different. I think we miss big opportunities to let a little light in and try new things. Divert the CR to a race once in a while, e.g. I still don't understand why the CR had to go to Brighton the same day as the open 10 last Sept?? I wrote to the powers that be and suggested a reroute and got no reply. Can you imagine the feedback the club would have benefited from if the TT had 50 ACC people lining the route encouraging all the participants? Could be fantastic keep chipping away I hope we can try this out in 2010.
And no, I've nothing against going to Charlwood and back either, but near as dammit every week? Takes all sorts I guess... OK it's a good chance to catch up with folk and have a natter but the sheer size of the ride means too much hanging about, at both ends, for me to want to make a regular effort to attend. That's not a criticism - just an observation, the numbers we attract create challenges that's all I'm sayin'
And toks - we gonna see you in the trails anytime soon

bet you'd love it
