Chaingang Lite?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Will see Y'all at Bletchingly at 6.45

Presume you mean by the Prince Albert Pub.

Orv/Ivor if you are coming from Oxted may hook up with you on the way. I will be crossing the A22 south of Tandridge and then up Tilburstow Hill

That was good fun. Had a group of four on the lite and a group of 5 on full fat. In the full fat version we went pretty damn quick. Stu was turning the screw, he was feeling good. Dom, Keith, Paul, Stu and I had a smooth through and off for a couple of laps but then it got a bit messy as Stu started to turn the screw a bit more. Paul was suffering after a couple of heavy training sessions, Keith was keeping up, I was doing the odd turn and Dom decided to take the sensible option and hang back.

Towards the end it got really messy and the guys left me on the front to fry for the finish where Stu and Keith then battled it out for the sprint, I have no idea who won as I was too busy trying to turn my lungs back inside the right way.

Not sure if I can make next week but hope you lot keep it up and get the lite version going with a few others would be good.

Cheers

Have to say found it very hard. Very heavy legs, was hanging off the back by the end of the first lap and it just got worse. It's always nice to be reminded that your fitness may not be where you think it is. My HR was over 90% most of the time but still good fun and nice to see everybody :D

I'll be up for this later in the summer when I have more experience and speed :) Won't be able to make it every week though.

Is the Lite version going to be run every Wednesday?

I'm keen to join this. I live in Horley. so it makes more sense for me to go straight to Horne Golf Club, if that's where the circuits starts from. What time do I need to be there by?

I cannot make this Weds, but think you should try and go for it. If someone can post what they intend to do and I will send along a few of my EG buddies to join in on the lite version.

Cheers

I am pretty sure you will get away with parking on the right hand side as you drive into Horne Golf Club. EGCC use it on Tuesday nights and nobody seems to mind.

Before folks get too settled into a wednesday night routine, Redhill CC have used exactly the same course as we rode last week on wednesdays for their club time trial. I'm not sure they'd appreciate us lot whizzing by.

Their first wednesday night TT this year is May 7th at 7:15pm.

Was going to mention that myself... I think they're doing one this Wednesday too, I might be mistaken though.

Wednesdays also will clash with the club Pilates classes,
is the circuit used for TT on a Tuesday or Thursday?

I wont be there the next couple of weeks as am sunning myself in Spain but hope to join back in after that and either hang on the back of the LIte group for more than half a lap  or start an "extra Lite " group to follow on.

If its out of action due to TTs taking place - use the Newdigate handicap circuit instead - its pretty close and most members will be familiar with the roads???
