2009 Richmond Park 3 Lap Challenge

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

If you're really dedicated and can get away with it Saturday evening is apparently recommended :D

(Very few cyclists, and very rarely any Feds out with their speed guns)

Is this really an issue? Do police hand out speeding tickets to cyclists?

There is occasional chat about it on Bike Radar and I think some people have been cautioned (possibly mentioned somewhere in this thread but maybe other threads too)

I think if you look like you are purposefully breaking the speed limit then there is a chance they will pull you over

The thing is to do a competitive time your average speed needs to be very close to - and of course ideally above - the 20mph limit

Well done Sean. Just riding behind you the other day on the way to Palace I noticed the increased speed!

First ever attempt 52.26 (17.24 - 17.36 - 17.26) on roadie - great 'cross training :D

I'm the second lightest on the current BR thread (women included) - think this suits the testers better!

No watts yet. But guessing just under 5/kg. Next time I'll use aero wheels and tell you how much slower they are

Not quite in Sylv's league but went off to Richmond Park early this morning on my commuting bike - 5 laps in 1 hour 33-50 (18-59 / 18-49 / 18-22 / 18-41 / 18-59 ). 280W for each lap. :D

That's great times for 5 laps, I've never done more than 3!

Went there this week for an outdoors power benchmark as I've just fitted back my PT to the road bike from the turbo bike, just had time for a single lap so went flat out, 17"29 @ 289w.

I'll do the club TT on the same bike and will aim for around 300w, as I had to freewheel a few times due to traffic and junctions. Have not yet done a TT with the PW so will be interesting.
