Wednesday chaingang from Butlers & Coulsdon

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Wednesday chaingang from Butlers & Coulsdon

Postby Dominic » Fri Dec 28, 2007 7:56 pm

There was a chaingang run last year on a Wednesday that started in Bletchingley. Is it going to be run again and what date and time would it be starting?

Hi Marco,

Could do that would be a decent plan but we would need a core number of people to come along.

I would be happy being one of the stragglers!

It takes me about an hour to get to bletchingley I think..........

It was in Bletchingley to suit Marek but he has found some new friends now.

I'm up for one starting in Coulsdon.

As Marco said it would be useful to have this a defined chaingang so that anyone can come regardless of ability!

So if we think Coulsdon is the starting point. Could have an appropriate time outside GBs also in case people want to meet there then ride to coulsdon together.
I am assuming straight down the A23.
Where is the turning point?

If we publish this in advance then others can join in and turn back when they get dropped.

Thoughts?

I can't make it this week, but would like to come along as long as I can make the time.

What time do you plan on Meeting Up. 7.00 or so at GBs would suit..

I only really mentioned Bletchingley because it is convenient to me. My interest was about there being one midweek to give me a blast to get me up to racing speed again for the end of February.

So Coulsdon would suit me fine. Don't even mind what day it is. It was more to have a regular ride where I could have my legs ripped off that was all

Can't do this week but after that the world is my oyster!

I would be interested in this as well as I need to get up to race speed. As a straggler, i like the idea of being able to be dropped twice.
From a selfish point of view the closer to croydon the better or correspondingly a slightly later meet time at coulsdon , as I'll be one of those rushing back from work to make the meet time.

As an idea, if you did it on the Wednesday, when there is the club night- you could have first one back buys/makes the teas ?

Ok so this wednesday

7.00 GBs
7.15 CSS
7.55 Turn back!
8.35 Back at CSS
8.50 Back at GBs

Is this ok for everyone?

What day going forward would this be on?

Cheers
