chaingang tonight?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

The only thing I am confused about is the weather has not stopped us before what difference does tonight make? If you are still a bit sore Stu from Sunday it is no problem to delay it a day :)

A chain gang is a form of training used by racing cyclists to replicate race conditions while training. Each rider takes a turn at the front and thus keeping the speed high (higher than you would ride on your own). I find it very good training as it keeps me on my threshold (hard to very hard) for most of the time riding.

We usually meet at CSS at about 7.15pm going down the A23 to Gatwick and turning round. It is fairly fluid, punctuated with stops for traffic lights and even cars sometimes :D

Sarah- its also bit like interval training, but much easier to do as you are with other people, and your not stuck on a turbo for 1.5 hours. as dom says its really good for race training, mainly because your above the intensity you would be at during a race. its a real LLB (leg and lung burner! )

Sounds great. I would love to join in when I can (OH is a pro opera singer and doing full time at Glyndebourne festival at mo - he gets in at 7.30 so too late most nights) but when I see you are doing it and can get out I will come. What pace is it? I may be too slow at the moment but it would be something to aim for.
