I was there at 1855, passed you all (you were all stationary) on my commuter mtb, rucksack, flashing lights and cycle clips, polished brogues nestled in toeclips and straps. Thought better of giving you a tow or tagging along :)

We also saw Stu just as we were leaving

So we had a good ride last night, seven of us (Paul, Matt, Ant, Jake, Serge, Andy and I) in ideal conditions with very little wind and mild temperature

After Redhill we took one-minute turns at the front (well for those of us who have watches to look at, as a minute seems like an awful long time when you are riding at 100% - I know, I've tried to guess time) and then peeling off (which is the hardest part I find, as you need to keep enough speed to be able to latch onto the last rider - otherwise it's game over)

We kept together untill the hills on the way back where gravity and traffic lights meant a regroup was needed

On the frantic final few miles our paceline was stringed out once again after the Merstham drag, and on the home run Serge (was it you?) and Jake managed to get the better of Paul and I (well I was the one who lost the wheel) - I was impressed

I had averages of: speed 23mph, HR 157, power 230w (262w excluding freewheeling). Distance from CSS 26.7 miles time 1h10.

I hope to make it to the next few (till Palace starts!)

Nahh, it was me of course 8) I was tucked up behind Paul and decided to use it as leadout practice, so as soon as he flicked his elbow i opened up the taps and went for it. I knew someone was behind me and assumed it was Ant about to pass me at the line again  i was gobsmacked at the finish to find out it was Jack  Awesome riding by the young lad, we'll have to make sure we limit his gears next time as per the youth rules

Not this time bud, my left knee was giving me holy hell chasing Serge down coming up the Merstham drag so had to ease back as it hurt when I tried to go flat out or anywhere approaching it.

Yep, for a 15 year old the boy done well.

Other than my knee it was fun last night. Great standard of riding from all involved and everyone doing a god turn on the front.

He should be on the correct gears regardless of whether or not he's racing, the rules are there for a reason. Its just like in a gym, a teenager shouldn't be trying to bench press the same weight as a 30 year old beef cake.

If he is joining ACC, or if he already has, I hope the relevant people make sure he is looked after properly. If he can give you lot what for on a chaingang, then he's obviously got potential. So don't let him waste it.
