I encountered a hole the size of a 20 pence in my rear tyre wall today and suffered a humungous hole in the tube whilst out on Beddlestead Lane in Farleigh. Having patched the tyre only for the spare tube to explode again. I accepted that my ride was now over and phoned the wife to come and collect me.

That's when Chris cycled past and shouted if I needed any help. A tyre would be useful I said. He stopped produced a tyre patch which allowed me to continue on my ride without worry.

So if you are the said Chris the American / Canadadian Many thanks, or you know Chris (what are the chances) please pass on my thnaks.for his help today.

I will from this day forth carry a tyre patch and gaffer tape.

Lessons have been learned. Realy have in this instance and not in the polictical sense. i.e until next week when it happens again.
