Turn your kids into nice little earners

Postby huw williams » Wed Mar 17, 2010 11:32 am

How fast are your kids? £100 on offer

If they have a mountainbike then how about coming and putting them on the line…. …..see how fast they are…..if they’re the quickest on the day then the money’s yours.
Two classes: £50 for riders aged 5-9 years
£50 for riders aged 10-15 years

What is this:
It is part of our input to the Reigate Festival of Sport

When: Sunday 2 May

Where: Reigate Priory Park

Timing details:
Riders aged 5-9…………..from: 11.00 am to: 1.15pm
Riders aged 10-15………..from: 1.30pm to: 3.00pm

Cost:
Riders aged 5-9……… 2 laps of a 250m circuit....... £2 for up to 4 attempts
Riders aged 10-15…… 5 laps of a 250m circuit…… £3 for up to 4 attempts

More about us and what we’re planning on the day:
Redhill Raiders is the local club for youngsters who want to develop their cycling skills.

We meet fortnightly on Sundays on a school play-ground at Merstham and we have a website with more details: www.redhillraiders.org
We’ve been asked to play a supportive role during the YMCA Fun Run…….. so on that particular day we’ll be moving location in order to stage our usual training session in Reigate Priory Park. You are welcome to come and join in.

A special feature of the day will be BMX racing…. using either our bikes or your own.

And on top of all that, we’re throwing out the £50 challenge. All you have to do is to complete two laps (age 5-9 years) or five laps (age 10-15 years) of a short circuit on your own bike. So speed counts.

Come with your own mountainbike (because it will be on grass) plus your safety helmet…. and also a parent (or apply for a parental consent form in advance – see our website for details on how to download one).

Sending them out to sweep chimneys 14 hours a day, 6 days a week provides a more reliable income. Or it did in the good old days.

Actually I think down t'pit was a more reliable income.
Back on topic... looks like fun, I'll have to take hugo along to that. Reckon if he does two of those a week and wins for the next 15 years I'll be close to breaking even.
