MTB tonight

Postby Wal » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:06 pm

Short notice but...

My mate Rich & I are heading to the Surrey hills for a dusk/night blast on the MTBs this evening; all are welcome to join us. Meeting at the Peaslake bus shelter at 6pm for 1.5 hr-ish ride.

Rich is bringing his portable pressure washer, so you won't have to put a muddy bike back in your car (you might have fill the washer up from your Camelbak though...).

I'd love to join you, Snoop, but will be away for Easter. Next time, for sure.

Had fun last night, as always. Predictably it was a complete mudfest and it was quite a challenge to stay upright with the bike squirming around in the mud and the slippery exposed roots always threatening to spit the front wheel off line. Things got a bit unnerving when my normally reliable front brake faded then failed altogether, forcing me to walk the steeper downhill sections.

Finished off with a nice pint and a plate of hot chips in the pub.
