Thanks v much folks - much appreciated. I'll allocate tasks and post a list nearer the event. Happy to accommodate as many 'special requests' as possible - eg if people wish to race AND help I can arrange that.

We could still do with a few more helpers so if anyone else can help please do let me know.

Ta v much

Tamar, put me down to help, I have just informed Paul T that I won't be able to help with the raod race so one person's loss is another person's gain. Happy to do anything - I have pushed off, marshalled on lonely corners and helped the time keeper before.

While on the subject of the ACC 25, could I just add that this race is one of the rounds of the newly formed London Women's Cycle Racing League. The details of the league can be found on the link below.
http://www.londoncyclesport.com/News/Ev ... eague.html
We also have a website http://www.londonwomenscycleracing.com/

This means that there are likely to be more women entering the event than in previous years, and generally more publicity around the event. We also hope to present a "leader's" jersey to the league leader at the end of the race, and do a mini write-up for London Cyclesport + other websites.
Addiscombe is affiliating to the league, so hopefully there'll be enough marshalls to allow the addiscombe women to race it.

Not sure how you are doing on the marshalling front - hopefully there are enough guys helping out.

The Addiscombe 25 is round 4 of the women's league so there'll be more women racing it than in previous years. I don't know how many will be there, but I'm aware of 10 who have already entered.
It would be great to see some Addiscombe girls riding this as well. Bridget took the plunge and did the round at Goodwood and I think she's racing Hog Hill this Saturday as well. Can others be tempted to join her in the league and contribute to Addiscombe's presence? Stephanie, Amy, Misses Hewitt, and others?

At the end of the tt we also hope to do a presention of the leader's jersey to the league leader.

Details about the tt are on the women's league website.

   Nice one Maria, this is the Addiscombe you are talking about. The only cycling club I know of where in some quarters boasting about how many members we allegedly have seems more important than encouraging people to get out there and support grass roots cycling sport.

Enough helpers my ar5e.

Dear lovely marshals - I have hopefully emailed you all with instructions, but if that's gone awry then I've pasted a table at the bottom of this post to show who's doing what and when...unfortunately the formatting has gone to pieces in the pasting so I hope you can make sense of it.

If your name's down twice then that's a post you're doubling up on ie marshalling and checking, or manning a point that riders will pass twice as they go out and back (so you'll need to keep your eyes peeled).

The HQ opens at 05:30 and I'll have the marshal jackets there until around 06:10 if you want to pick one up before you go to your post. At around 6.10 I'll send Keith (my partner - if you're not yet met him you'll recognise him as he's got a look of a muscateer about him) round in the car to distribute jackets to those who haven't yet got them and also make sure everyone's happy with what they're doing and where they need to stand. He'll also distribute checkers sheets & explain what you need to do if you don't know.

I've also attached the marshal instructions to the email, I think they're quite clear but if you've got any questions please do ask. We've got a full field and loads of new riders who will be relying on your guidance to keep them on track. Please bring a copy of the rider list with you (also attached to your email). It is useful to a) hold out to give nice visual to point where the riders need to go, b) lets you know when ACC riders are about to come past and c) gives you some indication of when the event is over. Please remember that the final rider (no. 120) is the fastest rider in the field (on paper) so will be overtaking those in front of him...so don't pack up immediately after he's hurtled past - wait for riders 111-119 please. If there are any towards the end of the field who don't start the event then I'll try to communicate that to you on the day so you're not waiting indefinitely - use your judgement though - if a rider's not come by after 10-15 min then they may have punctured and headed back to HQ.

If you're in a car, then it would be REALLY helpful if you could pick up any signage and bring that back to the HQ after the event. Someone will do a final drive round to check, but if most stuff has been returned it makes it much easier than having to keep stopping and picking signs up.

Roy - I've put you on the finish with John Smith. Between you you'll be helping the timekeeper Lesley Donington to spot the numbers of riders as they finish and then phoning the times through to Paul at regular intervals so the results board can be updated asap. Can you arrange to exchange phone numbers, or pm me and I'll put you in touch with each other.

Please do all bring a few layers of clothes with you - it can be cold at that time in the morning and you'll be out there for over 2hrs.

I think that's all - but do shout if I've forgotten anything. Oh! Tea and cakes - please do come and have tea and cakes afterwards. And also don't forget there's Liege Bastogne Liege showing in the Lindfield Club in the afternoon (see other forum post).

Many many thanks everyone. I'm sure it's going to be a great event.
