We had some very good advice and guidance from Huw which set us off before Christmas, and have had some good tips from Hal about the logistics.
We have both been riding about 250 miles a week and now riding every day including the 30 mile round trip commute five days a week, then 45 minutes of core training including weights and spinning four days a week. We have also been benefitting greatly from Pete's alternative club runs which involve a lot more climbing and a varied terrain over a 50-60 mile course on Saturdays and then another 30-40 miles on a Sunday with a few hills thrown in for fun.
We are planning to escalate the weekend rides to longer back to back rides in a few weeks.
Any advise would be great as we are both relatively new to this training stuff.
