So, I have a couple of pairs of Assos shorts. They are very good, but I need to get a couple more pairs of decent bib shorts for long distance riding when I go to the Pyrenees in June. Now, I am tempted to just go for the Assos, but something inside me is saying that £200 for some lycra and a pad is a bit over the top, and two pairs is £400.
Of course, I realise that these shorts are protecting some important parts of the anatomy, but does anyone out there have something that compares well to the Assos but is around half the price.
Before you suggest I have tried the following:
Shorts with Coolmax pads - These are ok, but for longer distances they don't tend to hold up that well (or should I say the butt does not).
Northwave Zpeed - These are quite uncomfortable on a longer ride, find the pad has poor stitching and therefore tends to hurt a bit on a longer ride.
Cheers
