Alternative Club Run 17/4/10

Postby andrewf » Sat Apr 17, 2010 5:41 pm

It felt like summer had arrived prematurely in todays Alternative Run. Great run out at a steady pace to Shere, via Chipstead, Walton, Little Switzerland and Ranmore Common  with a group of 16 of us heading out. Fabulous scenery, super company and some testing climss including Ranmore and Shere on the way out.

A somewhat long cafe stop at the Lucky Duck in Shere ( Note to Ed....multiple orders not a speciality here ) and we were off once again...return trip via Coldharbour. A puncture stop near the top offered Brian the ideal opportunity to demonstrate his skills to an admiring audience...

A quick decent off the top through Dorking and back up Box Hill ( via double puncture for Pete S  ), back home via a couple of very civilised beers at the Ramblers Rest.

More of these days please :D

Roll on next week

Awesome day with a great bunch chewing up the Surrey Hills. Cheers all for making that a very agreeable day and a refreshing pint at the end finished it off nicely 8) .

I loved it. My return to the club after an extended absence. The weather, the route, the company all combined to make a great day out. Can we do something the same but different next week.

Well what can I say......

That was offically the start of the years cycling for me, I had already done a few CR's to warm the legs up again.

That was SO MUCH FUN, enjoyed every minute of that ride, every hill, every puncture, every view, every pot-hole, every colour Ian was wearing, every descent, a very agreeable ride indeed. What a beautiful country we live in and that was the best was to see it.

Great bunch of riders on a day with perfect weather all topped off with a pint.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D + :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D = :D .

By christ did I get cramp that evening, made me wish I had a stanna!!!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for that one folks. and a big shout out goes to Mummy Pete for looking after us.
