ACC Summer Social in The Park 2010

Postby Snoop Doug » Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:47 pm

Hey folks - anyone who was at last year's event knows what a blast we had. And we're doing it again in 2010 8)

Can I suggest that we try Lloyd Park as the venue this year? Plenty of good spots to choose from in the park we can decide precisely where later but bringing the event a little close to Croydon might suit a few more folk? Anyhoo - we all like a bit of variety eh?

The deal is basically this. I dial in for some nice sunny weather on Sunday August 8th. We all get together from around 1pm for a huge bring your own picnic. Food is consumed at a very leisurely pace and then just when you think you're full the Rt Hon Lord Ingram and family encourage you to have just one more delicious slice of game pie.

Some time later a few silly games are played - entirely optional of course. Then - after a thoroughly good fun day we all toddle off until next year.

It's easy, it's great fun. If the weather is naff, well hey ho we just let it go for a year.

Whaddya say?

[quote="marco"]Sounds great. I'm sure we can have a mtb ride finishing there to coincide too.

One that would start on time for once so that we don't miss out on the homemade pork pie

Can't make this either, August is prime family holiday time, so we will be heading to France that weekend.

Anerley 50 in the morning but that just means I shall be suitably hungry and tired to ensure that I can stuff my face royally and then kip under a tree :D .

Was a good do last year I enjoyed it, and my parents dog certainly did with the little ones throwing his teddy bear for him all afternoon.

Don't forget the bit where I launch myself clumsily at the ball during a game of softball and end up with finger-knack for the next three months  .

I'll be there to boost the numbers and try that unicycle, and Tamar if I cant ride it you can stick it where the sun don't shine

Looking forward to it Snoop. Picnic table at the ready.

I tried riding it last year, and that's where it tends to end up.
Either that or the pedals whack you in the shins. :(

Sounds like a great idea. Do we all chip in and bring a bit of food and drink?

Hey Lee, great point - yes folks, bring your own - that's the beauty of this, homemade to your own secret recipe 8)

If you want to bring a bit extra to share that's cool and completely optional
