Charlwood sprint

Postby Paulos Fandangos » Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:11 am

Passing through Charlwood last night I noticed some repair work to the road on the sprint straight. It's not silky smooth by any means but at least if a wheel should happen to run over one there's a lot less chance of punctures and scraped rims. There's also more spray paint on the road than a London bill board, so I'm hoping plans are afoot for some re-surfacing.

Happy pedaling.

On a similar note the bad holes on the Bletchingley circuit from the ACC race and latterly the NP Les Ingman race is being repaired this week.

They repaired some of the minor roads prior to last Sunday's race but sadly not the circuit itself. Apparently the bad holes on the run in from the Bell pub all the way up to the A25 were reported to the council by Glyn back in Feb, but it has taken them a long time to act.

There are further RRs on that circuit this year and both the Bec and NP are running evening TTs on that circuit which I'm sure would welcome some ACC participation if you want to do a sporting TT away from the busy dual carriageways.

Paulos,
I reported the Charlwood holes to http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ the other week... Good to see some repair has been made even though it is not the best quality.. I have been reporting all the potholes on my regular commute - and to be fair, the relevant authorities have been fixing them.. I see they are re surfacing a large stretch of road I reported in front of the British Home for Incurables at top of Streatham Common / South Norwood... If we all report the ones we encounter that should make a difference.. Mind you , some roads are so bad , ( thinking of some N London ones), that you would not know where to start as there are that many pot holes on them..
