Mountainbiking May 2nd

Postby Grahame » Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:46 pm

I can't make Andrew's Magnificent Monday Mountainbike Mayhem on the Bank Holiday, so how about a "prequel"?

Meeting at 10am at the bus shelter by the shop in Peaslake, aiming to set off riding at quarter past ten, with a few returns to Peaslake to pick up the arrivals and drop off those having to go home early (oh, and as an excuse to eat any number of cheese straws.

Who fancies coming out to get muddy or dusty, depending on the weather over the next few days?

I can provide a lift for up to 2 people and 2 bikes.

Err neither can I now  as I'm going to do PVTs ride on Monday.

I'll come out to play with the rufty tufty bike on Sunday instead, see you at the Peaslake bus stop with a cheese straw/samosa sticking out my mouth :D .

Graham,

I wouldn't mind doing this as well, do you still have room for a rider and bike? What time would we be getting back around? Can you organise dry weather?

Keiran, yes there is still room of 1 rider and bike (but you'll be in the back seat and may have to cope with some invasion of your personal space by bits of bike). I'm planning to come back when we've finished riding. I'd guess back into Croydon by 5pm, but no guarantees. It'll be later if we are having the best day ever, earlier if it is peeing down and the fun is getting dissolved and washed away. I can't guarantee dry weather, but cheese straws and halfway-decent coffee are decent bets.

Icecream and icecream-based milkshake are now also on the Stores menu; however may be less suitable for forecast weather.

Graham, looking at the weather forecast for the weekend I will be out Saturday now, instead of Sunday. So have a nice muddy ride!

Grahame, can I nab Kieran's place in the car now he's not going? I've checked train times and they're not ideal for Peaslake @ 10. I could get to Gomshall at either 08:42 or 10:42 and Dorking at 9:31....which would still be a bit tight to get to Peaslake for 10 I think. I can go to Elliot's for 9 to facilitate easy pick up.

At the moment I don't think Keith's coming....but if he changes his mind then we'll go in his car and I'll let you know.

Ta v much.

I'm likely to be arriving at Gomshall at 10.42, so at Peaslake at 11ish. Hopefully that will link up with the starting group after the first loop.

Thanks

OK, seat nabbed by Tamar. See you at Elliot's at 9am.

CeeJay, we'll plan to see you at about 11 in Peaslake.
